Energy Transfer Products
We have an extensive range of ignitrons, ignitron trigger modules,
hydrogen thyratrons, spark gaps, power semiconductors and high-energy
capacitors available for your high-energy transfer needs. Our own brand of National Electronics ignitrons are used in a wide variety
of high voltage switching applications where reliability is a must:
- High Power Lasers
Used to fire flash lamps that amplify laser beams such as, the Inertia
Confinement Fusion (ICF) laser systems being used around the world
- Plasma Beam Control
Used to control the energy for plasma beam compressor experiments
- Rail, EM & EC Guns
Used as closing switches for high current applications
- Crowbars
Used to protect expensive power grid tubes in many of today's broadcast
transmitters
- Magnetizers and Magnaformers
Used to switch high voltage and currents
In
addition, Richardson offers a trigger module used to fire the ignitrons.
Expertise from North Star Research Corporation went into a highly reliable
module that was specifically designed for Richardson.
A full range of spark gaps is available, both over voltage and triggered,
from such leading manufacturers as National Electronics and Perkin Elmer
(formerly EG&G).
We maintain an extensive inventory of hydrogen thyratrons from such leading
manufacturers as National Electronics and Perkin Elmer (formerly EG&G) for various industries.
Hydrogen thyratrons are used in modern lasers for laser marking, cutting,
and scribing, eye surgery and skin treatment. Other applications include
radar, capacitor discharge and accelerators to control klystrons and magnetrons.
For the OEM, we stock and sell grid driver modules for hydrogen thyratrons,
which allows the design engineer to work on other parts of the design.
