Isolators & Circulators
Circulator
A circulator is a passive, non-reciprocal device with three or more ports used to transmit microwave energy in a specific direction. Additionally, circulators are used to prevent reflected microwave energy from the magnetron preventing excessive magnetron heating or moding. An isolator is a circulator with an absorbing load attaching to the port used to transmit the reflected energy is generated from the magnetron and is transmitted to the load port and absorbed.

Water Loads
A water-load is used to absorb microwave energy from a system. It is often used as a test load for generators and as the terminating matched load in an isolator. Water Loads

Tuners*
Tuners are waveguide components used to match the load impedance. Tuners minimize the amount of reflected power, which results in the most efficient coupling of power to the load. Richardson Electronics supplies both manual 3 and 4 stub tuners. Tuners

Auto Tuners
Auto-Tuners Auto-Tuners utilize motorized tuning stubs electronically controlled by a microprocessor to match the load impedance with the source impedance. The auto-tuner minimizes the amount of reflected power, which results in the most efficient coupling of power to the load. Auto-tuners are generally used in applications where the load impedance varies significantly during the heating process or between applications.

Couplers
Directional Couplers Directional Couplers are waveguide components used to measure forward or/and reflected microwave energy. Richardson Electronics supplies two types of couplers used to meet the microwave system requirements. One type of directional coupler uses a loop terminated in a matching load at one end and an "N-Type" connector for a power sensory and meter at the other end. The second type of directional coupler uses diode detectors to measure the power levels, which is then displayed on an analog meter box (galvanometer).

Straight Sections
Richardson Electronics offers straight sections and flanges of waveguide both in standard and custom lengths. Straight waveguide is supplied either as a raw cut waveguide section or with the attached flanges. The dimension of a straight waveguide piece is measured from face to face of the flanges.
